SOUP night- New Orleans style

The theme for our monthly SOUP was New Orleans....and I got to try out some of the new recipes I found and was inspired by on our recent trip to NOLA!! A Shrimp/Corn Bisque (Maque Choux), Mardi Gras Slaw, plus Beignets and Cafe au Lait (Cafe Du Monde style) for dessert. The little ones all wore the NOLA tiedye t-shirts we brought home for them, and of course everyone wore Mardi Gras beads. Crazy fun time!! I had found a fun metal fish...so with green, purple and gold plus some beads...we were festive!
Everyone found out that you can actually make biegnets at home!! Cafe Du Monde isn't the only place in the world to make and eat them!! Grammas work magic!

I miss the Jacobson soup nights! Great posts. Can Gus get any funnier? Or Louise any more adorable? Or Carl any more grown-up? I wish I had been there for the birthday parties....
