Girlie Girl Day

Today I offered to have Louise for the morning so Jenn could have a "date" with Gus. As the middle child...he's been needing a little more attention these days, so Jenn thought a trip to the barber and Home Depot as a twosome would be good for both of them. And I thought a morning together with Louise would be super!!

It was Girlie Girl morning! Gramma had bought hair clips and had some "product" available...so I could play with her beautiful red curls! She was quite cooperative...and the curls looked positively beautiful when we were done. After those three little boys...it was time I had some hair-do playtime!!

Couldn't get any cuter!!

SOUP night- New Orleans style

The theme for our monthly SOUP was New Orleans....and I got to try out some of the new recipes I found and was inspired by on our recent trip to NOLA!! A Shrimp/Corn Bisque (Maque Choux), Mardi Gras Slaw, plus Beignets and Cafe au Lait (Cafe Du Monde style) for dessert. The little ones all wore the NOLA tiedye t-shirts we brought home for them, and of course everyone wore Mardi Gras beads. Crazy fun time!! I had found a fun metal fish...so with green, purple and gold plus some beads...we were festive!
Everyone found out that you can actually make biegnets at home!! Cafe Du Monde isn't the only place in the world to make and eat them!! Grammas work magic!

It's Kinda Tricky Grams!!

"It's kinda tricky, Grams!" is what Gus explained to me as he demonstrated his new skiis. Two of our large blocks had become the latest in adventure footwear for Gus as he made his way across the family room. "Sometimes it's VERY DANGEROUS...", he continued. Yes, Gus....as you cross the floor on a Fantastic Friday here at Gramma's house it can be downright dangerous. Today was the first Logan Friday since we got back from our vacation and Gus and Louise joined him for a few hours this morning while Jenn had her "mother's morning out" with friends. I really don't care how much chaos is created....as long as they are safe and we're having fun! Afterall...a Gramma can always clean up in the quiet after everyone has gone home!!

Jenn and Carl joined us for lunch after pre-school. I really enjoy seeing all four of the little ones together. Louise has begun to move out of "BABY" status into almost a TODDLER now that she creeps, crawls and pulls up to furniture. She's always busy with the toys the big boys drag out.

Logan is really "hanging" with the big guys now too! I think his todder days are numbered...and he's just the little guy. Seeing the three boys together gives me a fun peek into the future. Imagine this photo 5 years from now (ages10, 8, and 7)...or even 10 years from now!! (15, 13, and 12) Yikes!! I wonder if I'll still get HUG/KISS, HUG/KISS and l-l-l-ll-loveyou! from them!! (I'd better!)

Here's little toddler Louise...with her beautiful red curls.

and Louise abandoned with the earthquake...danger in the family room!! Don't 'cha just love it?? I sure do!! I love being Gramma!!

Gramma's back in business!!

Tuesday morning...bright and early...it's Logan I hear saying "Gramma" as I open my sleepy eyes! Oops! I fell back to sleep and almost forgot he was coming here early for breakfast before daycare!! I think I'm out of practice! Good thing Poppa was downstairs to greet them. I've missed him so much...his cute little "jammied" bottom running around looking for the toys and the cats! He was so busy this morning, and we were having so much fun, we had to call Laynie and tell her Logan would be late. 8:00 was much to early for us to give him up!

Logan loves the "exploding outhouse" bank our friend Tom E. made and gave to us on our trip to Florida (all the grandkids do!) He's just as surprised and animated every time he tries it....and he wants that to go on forever!! "More, more!!" he says and signs. And Poppa reassembles it again and again!

Poppa watches as Logan gets the penny ready... Put the Penny in the top of the bank.....and KA-POW!!..it explodes with mousetrap power!!And aren't we surprised...every time??!!
